American Promise celebrates Black Male Achievement Week

Last night, the much-anticipated POV documentary American Promise aired on PBS SoCaL!  If you missed it, we have good news…You have another opportunity to watch online this afternoon!  American Promise spans 13 years, following two African-American boys in Brooklyn, N.Y., Idris, and his best friend, Seun, as they make their way through one of the most prestigious private schools in the country.

POV will host an American Promiselive online screening and Q&A on OVEE from 4-6 PM PT. Filmmakers Michèle Stephenson and Joe Brewster and Angela Williams, Director of African-American Engagement at Big Brothers Big Sisters will be joining as panelists. Subject Idris will join from 4-4:45 PM ET.
