Celebrating Student-Created Media!

Posted by Keena Levert on

For the 48th year, K-12 teachers from across the state of California submitted their students' very best media and multi-media projects to the California Student Media Festival.  Presented in partnership by PBS SoCaL and CUE, and generously supported by premiere sponsor Wells Fargo, the 2014 CSMF was a roaring success!  This past weekend, over 500 students, parents and teachers flocked to Los Angeles to celebrate the winning projects.  Huge cheers rang out when 3 projects were revealed as Grand Prize winners, the award given to the best overall project in each grade level (elementary, middle and high school), and won cash prizes for their schools!

Check out the photos below and on our Flickr page AND the PBS SoCaL EXTRAS video below for an all access look at the celebration event!  And don't forget to tune into PBS SoCaL on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 7 p.m. to see the California Student Media Festival highlights show!  The show will feature snippets of student work, footage from the event and in person interviews with winners.

Summer may have arrived, but the 49th Annual California Student Media Festival will be here before we know it.  Be sure to keep an eye on the festival website for all things CSMF!!
