Digital Innovation in SoCaL Classrooms
The wait is over! PBS SoCaL is pleased to announce that, after a nationwide search, multiple educators in our community have been selected as part of the Class of 2014 PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovators.
Alice Chen (Walnut, CA) and Kristina Cotran (West Covina, CA) will all be part of a group of 100 educators from across the country who will develop strategies for delivering best practices in digital education that can be immediately applied to classrooms. They will serve as thought leaders in paving the way in innovation and creative thinking over the course of the 2014-2015 school year by empowering their peers and sharing strategies around digital media integration; serving as PBS LearningMedia ambassadors that embraces life-long learning, collaboration, inclusion, and innovation; and making up a robust professional learning community that will foster new ways of thinking, while leading the way in digital media in the classroom. They will also receive exclusive professional development from PBS LearningMedia, including virtual training and resources that they will be able to bring home to their school. Alice Chen has the additional honor of being named one of the top 16 “Lead PBS Digital Innovators” and will attend the PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovators Summit this summer at PBS Headquarters in Washington, D.C.!
We could not be more proud to represent these incredible educators and launch a year-long partnership to drive innovation in our local classrooms, as well as classrooms across the country. We look forward to sharing more updates on the achievements and impact of the 2014 PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovators.
