Share Your Road

Posted by Keena Levert

What path did you take to arrive at your current job?  Was it traditional or roundabout, smooth sailing or full of obstacles?  Whatever the answer – we want to hear from YOU!

PBS SoCaL is partnering with Roadtrip Nation to encourage Southern California professionals to pass down career advice to young people.  By sharing your road, you can help young people find their interests and get started in pursuit of their future career(s).   It’s a mentorship opportunity you can participate in without even leaving your desk!

How it works:

Roadtrip Nation created an online tool for students and young adults called Road Map.  Students answer questions about their interests, fields of study, etc. and then Road Map highlights the professional profiles of real people who share similar interests and obstacles.  The profiles we are collecting for the Share your Road initiative will be housed in the Road Map system and used as a resource by students interested in your profession.

It only takes about 15 minutes to fill out a profile, so what are you waiting for?  You never know – your story might be the exact encouragement, advice or motivation a student needs to figure out their next steps.
