TIME to get Reading AND Writing

Reading and writing go hand in hand. It's especially important for families to encourage a love of reading and to demonstrate how writing is used to communicate information and ideas. Locally, PBS SoCaL and Families in Schools are working to be sure students have opportunities to engage further with reading and writing. A Million Words: Every year, families, schools, and community leaders join together to challenge Los Angeles County students, preschool through 12th grade, to read millions of words outside of the classroom.
