ALL SUMMER LONG

PBS SoCaL to Host Summer Learning Day on June 20th

COSTA MESA, Calif. (June 10, 2015) – This summer, PBS SoCaL is encouraging kids and their families to continue learning beyond the school year with a PBS KIDS “Summer Safari” of content and activities. PBS SoCaL will be offering free resources on-air, online, and in the community. On-air, PBS KIDS will take audiences on a “Summer Safari” with specials and new episodes from Dinosaur Train, Wild Kratts, and Curious George.

The summer-long “safari” kicks off in June with the premiere of an all-new one-hour “Zeppelin Adventure” special on Dinosaur Train on Monday, June 15th at 11 a.m. Wild Kratts will continue the fun in July with new episodes every Wednesday, beginning with the premiere of the hit movie Wild Kratts: Back in Creature Time on July 1st at 7:30 a.m. Then, on Monday, August 17th at 9:30 a.m. is the television premiere of Curious George 3: Back to the Jungle.

To fight the summer learning gap locally, PBS SoCaL and LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes are partnering to celebrate National Summer Learning Day on Saturday, June 20th from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. This fun-filled event will offer access to quality hands-on learning activities, free educational resources, giveaways, and photo opportunities with Curious George and Buddy from Dinosaur Train.

Along with local events and programs, PBS SoCaL, in partnership with PBS KIDS, is also providing additional information through digital resources. Educational activities, event information, and online resources are available at www.pbssocal.org/summer.
