The Story Wall: Share Your Story with the Community
Filmmaker Ken Burns presents Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies in partnership with WETA, the flagship public broadcasting station in Washington, D.C. The film tells the ongoing story of cancer, from history to present day. Based on the 2010 Pulitzer Prize-winning book The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer by Siddhartha Mukherjee, it is the most complete documentary on cancer ever produced.
As the film's premiere approaches, the creators have offered the STORY WALL to the nation, an online platform for individuals to share their own unique stories - stories of hope and determination, struggle and survival. The STORY WALL is a place to share the narratives, videos and photos that detail your own connection to cancer.
Once your story is added to the STORY WALL, it can be viewed along with the unique stories of others from all around the country. To make your story searchable by people in the Southern California area, you can even tag PBS SoCaL as your local PBS station during submission.
Don't miss the three-part, six-hour event, airing on consecutive nights - March 30, March 31 and April 1 at 9:00 PM on PBS SoCaL. Hear about history's earliest diagnoses and treatment of cancer from historians, about today's most cutting-edge discoveries and advancements in research and treatment of the disease and walk right into the examination room with real families dealing with cancer today.
