Puppets Invade PBS SoCaL

PBS loves puppets. Some of our most beloved characters are puppets. From Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood world of Make-Believe puppets Prince Tuesday and Daniel Striped Tiger, to the ubiquitous Muppets and beloved Big Bird.

We love puppets so much, we decided to make some of our own. We got together for our Halloween celebration and made puppets from our favorite PBS KIDS shows. One of our favorites was the PBS coloring sheet puppets. We colored our favorite PBS KIDS characters, cut them out, and attached them to straws for instant puppet fun. We also got creative with Cat in the Hat finger puppets.

You can make your own puppets, too! PBS Parents shares creative ways to entertain your family with puppets made from cardboard, puppy marionettes from paper rolls, or even Cookie Monster Puppets with blue felt and fun googly eyes.

Even Curious George made his own finger puppets.

Puppets are taking over Washington D.C. for the Million Puppet March. Over 1,000 puppeteers and public broadcasting supporters have signed on to march on the National Mall in Washington on November 3rd. Join in the march and show us your puppets on our Facebook page.
