PBS SOCAL PRESENTS THE IMAGEN AWARDS NATIONALLY
COSTA MESA, Calif. (September 19, 2013) – PBS SoCaL will distribute The 28th Annual Imagen Awards for broadcast on Public Television stations nationwide. The Imagen Awards recognize and reward positive portrayals of Latinos in all forms of media, and encourage and recognize the achievements of Latino celebrities in the entertainment and communications industries.
The televised special will highlight attendees, winners, and presentations from the award ceremony. Winners were announced at the 28th Annual Imagen Awards Gala held Friday, Aug. 16, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif. PBS SoCaL was also nominated for an Imagen Award in the category of “Best On-Air Advertising” for a promotional spot recognizing their “Community Champion” efforts.
The 28th Annual Imagen Awards can be seen locally on PBS SoCaL, Saturday, September 21at 10 p.m. following Latino Americans at 8 p.m. PBS SoCaL will showcase a lineup of programming that explores the culture of Latino Americans during Hispanic Heritage Month which runs from Sept. 15 – Oct 15.
The 28th Annual Imagen Awards will be distributed through NETA and is co-produced by The Imagen Foundation and PBS SoCaL.
