a brand new episode of its original series,Open
Call,
featuring the acclaimed Santa Barbara chamber music group, Camerata
Pacifica.
Premiering Sept. 27 at 9 p.m., Camerata Pacifica will perform both classic and
contemporary pieces, including a diverse program of 20th century
music ranging from Shostakovich to Xenakis. Hailed by the Los Angeles Times as "the best chamber music and reason to get out
of the house," this celebrated chamber music group cultivates a highly enthused
and passionate audience with every performance through their non-traditional
approach to the timeless art form.
Camerata
Pacifica's artistic director Adrian Spence along with host Suzanna Guzmán will
discuss the company's unconventional musical techniques and how they are
helping to change the face of chamber music on the west coast. Spence has
created one of the most noted chamber music ensembles in the United States with
the development of a truly dynamic relationship between the audience and the
performers.
