SoCal Update

On the March 16 episode of SoCal Update, the election of Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón places L.A. as a national leader in criminal justice reform. KPCC Public Safety Correspondent Frank Stoltze tells us more about a progressive candidate looking to unseat current Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer.

Peter Hardn, a 42-year-old Afghan war veteran, moved to Orange County nine year ago after being stationed at Camp Pendleton. Since then, he’s worked as a deputy district attorney, a special assistant U.S. attorney, and for the past almost four years, as a private defense attorney. Hardin fashions himself as among a new cadre of progressive prosecutors like Gascón, though they don’t entirely share the same views.
