Violent Femmes Perform "Blister in the Sun"
Formed as an acoustic punk band in 1981 in Milwaukee, the Violent Femmes eponymous debut album became the first and only album in Billboard history to enter the charts with a platinum certification—a fandom groundswell eight years after its release. Their raw sound and honest lyrical perspective have seen the Femmes have become a mainstay of festivals, clubs, and theaters worldwide.
