Belgium
Season 2
Episode 203
In Belgium we meet Lieven Vanhove, an animator balancing creative passions with domesticity. Belgium is full of contrasts: a lavish history, proud monarchy; European democracy; a multi-cultural, multi-lingual population characterized by its anti-authority zeal. We trace the roots of surrealism and comic strips in a country that's been battered by wars and uplifted by a flourishing arts scene.
