Memories of the March

Leon Dukes

Leon Dukes moved from Upstate New York to Virginia to attend college. While there, he experienced segregation for one of the first times in his life. Spurred into action, Leon became an activist. He attended the March on Washington at his father’s invitation and remembers the March as one of the last events he and his father shared together.
