The opioid epidemic has resulted in a staggering increase in addiction and overdose deaths of more than 700,ooo in the United States, according to Centers for Disease Control. The largest percentage increase in opioid overdose deaths is among adults age 55 to 64, some due to substance use but many due to over-medication and drug interactions which increase in risk as we age.
