John Till's prospects were grim when he entering the workforce during the worst economy in modern times. Working at a friend's pickle factory, the self-taught entrepreneur started pickling vegetables to sell at farmers' markets in Long Island and New York City. He brought in struggling friends from Rhode Island, with whom he skateboards. They make it in the pickling business in New York City.
