Made Into an Enemy: Executive Order 9066
On February 19, 1942, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066, clearing the way for the forced removal of more than 110,000 people of Japanese ancestry from the West Coast. In Sacramento, Susumu Satow's family abandoned their strawberry harvest on one week's notice, and Berkeley student Asako Tokuno stayed behind to close the family flower business.
