China as Superpower?

China as superpower?

That's part of the question to be considered at a forthcoming UCLA conference.

The day-long happening, scheduled for May 24, 2010, is titled, "Responsible Stakeholder or Revisionist Superpower? China and the World in the 21st Century."

Co-sponsors include the Center for American Progress and a trio of UCLA programs.

Also, for reference, below is related material from the UCLA Center for Chinese Studies:

Specifically, a free-of-charge podcast from a November, 2009 talk by author and Guardian newspaper columnist Martin Jacques.

The speech's title: "When China Rules the World: the End of the Western World and the Rise of a New Global Order."

Tickets for the May 24 event are available here.
