Independent Little Cuss

Nationally-known disability rights advocate Carole Patterson takes on the world with her offbeat humor and brutal honesty in "Independent Little Cuss," a profile of her challenging life as she prepares to marry a non-disabled man despite his family's concerns. Included in the first season of “Fine Cut,” the film went on to win 11 international awards. Jeffrey Patterson has gone on to do nonprofit work as an administrator for 24 years for poor communities abroad. His cousin, Carole Patterson, and her husband eventually divorced after 17 years of marriage.  She is still a disablilty rights advocate as well as a real estate agent who enjoys printmaking and photography.
