What U.S. forces are doing in Niger, site of deadly ambush

Three U.S. special forces soldiers were killed and two more injured on Wednesday while on a training mission with the military of Niger. The soldiers were reportedly caught in an ambush not far from the Malian border, where al-Qaida and Islamic State militants have been active.
