From the Vault: Hurricane Katrina's Devastating Imact
10 years ago, Hurricane Katrina made landfall on the Gulf coast. Nearly 2000 people were killed & thousands more were left homeless by the costliest natural disaster in history. The cleanup cost more than $100 billion. New Orleans was the hardest hit; the city's levee system failed leaving 80% of the city underwater. Political leaders came under public scrutiny for their handling of the disaster.
