KCET'S 'SOCAL CONNECTED' WINS THREE STATUETTES AT 64th  LOS ANGELES AREA EMMY® AWARDS

Los Angeles - August 11, 2012 - KCET, the nation's largest independent public television station serving Southern and Central California, has announced that it has been honored with three Emmy® awards tonight for its flagship hard-hitting weekly news magazine, SoCal Connected at the 64th Annual Los Angeles Area Emmy® Awards at The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in North Hollywood.

KCET received Emmy® nominations this year in 10 categories, including seven for SoCal Connected; one for a special series on the backyard gardening movement Edible Garden: Breaking Ground; and two for Live @ the Ford, a cultural enrichment series of diverse performances at the historic Ford Amphitheatre sponsored by the LA County Arts Commission.
