Fine Cut 2014: 'Into the Silent Sea'

"Into the Silent Sea" is a Chapman University thesis film written and directed by Andrej Landin, produced by Heather Mcbride, and shot by Benjamin Fischinger. The film aired as part of the 2014 edition of "Fine Cut," KCET's 17th annual festival of student films.

"Into the Silent Sea" Synopsis:

Alexander, a lone cosmonaut, is adrift in orbit around Earth. He has lost communications and life-support systems are swindling fast. At the same time in Italy, a radio engineer is working the night shift when he discovers a voice amidst the empty static. An intense connection is made under desperate circumstances and across vast distances.

Andrej Landin's Bio:

Born in Sweden, Andrej moved to the U.S. in 2008 to pursue an education in film. He graduated with honors in 2013 from Chapman University. Andrej's thesis film "Into the Silent Sea" has screened at over 35 festivals and won more than a dozen awards. He is currently working as a commercial director in Sweden.
