The one-stop career center in Chatsworth stayed open even though the air outside was heavy with smoke and an orange cloud dominated the skyline. The center was unusually quiet, the newest batch of wild-fires making traffic horrendous to navigate. Still, a half-dozen Angelinos were taking advantage of the computers, filling out applications, trying to find a job - any job.
