The Border Between Them
After years of living in the United States illegally for 19 years, Martha and Juan Manuel Morales were arrested and deported to Mexico by immigration authorities in 2008. They left behind three sons, two of whom are U.S. citizens.
The Morales' eldest son -- Adrian Morales -- is an undocumented immigrant and the sole caretaker of his siblings in Orange County.
Since their deportation, Martha and Juan Manuel have not been able to enter the United States. During weekends and school vacations, the Morales children drive two hours to Mexico to visit their parents. The weekly goodbyes are a heart-breaking routine. Anchor Val Zavala brings the story of one family trying to stay together with a border between them.
Featuring Interviews With:
