SoCal Connected Nominated for 7 Local L.A. Emmy Awards

KCET-TV's flagship news magazine has been nominated for seven local Emmy® Awards, including one for overall Best Information/Public Affairs Series.

The announcement last week followed on the heels of some big wins for "SoCal Connected" at the L.A. Press Club Awards. The hard-hitting news show took home 16 of those awards total, with seven for first place.

The Emmy® Awards are given by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. They will be formally presented at the 64th Los Angeles Area Emmys ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at the Academy's Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre.

The nominations include:

BEST INFORMATION/PUBLIC AFFAIRS SERIES

"SoCal Connected"

BEST INFORMATION SEGMENT (HARD NEWS/INVESTIGATIVE REPORTING)

"Show Me the Money: HACLA Investigation"

BEST FEATURE SEGMENT

"Meter Madness"

"Signs of the Times"

BEST ARTS/CULTURE/HISTORY

"Herbie Hancock: All That's Jazz"

BEST CRIME/SOCIAL ISSUES

"The Border Between Them"

BEST LA LOCAL COLOR

"Master Chef: Thomas Keller Uncorked"

KCET was nominated for three other awards, bringing the station total to 10. Check out the full list here.
