Anne of Green Gables

This Thanksgiving, we're serving up something better than stuffing. That's right. What we've got cooking is much more filling than anything you'll find on your Turkey Day spread. On November 24,  we're dishing out a brand new adaptation of Lucy Maud Montgomery's classic novel, Anne of Green Gables (that's Anne with an 'e' mind you!)

In case you need a refresher, Anne of Green Gables tells the story of Anne Shirley, a precocious orphan placed in the care of uptight Marilla Cuthbert and her brother Matthew, played in this new version by acclaimed actor Martin Sheen. Neither the adventurous Anne nor the conservative Marilla could anticipate the profound effect they'd have on each other's lives, but together, they find family.

Anne of Green Gables

"It was November--the month of crimson sunsets, parting birds, deep, sad hymns of the sea, passionate wind-songs in the pines. Anne roamed through the pineland alleys in the park and, as she said, let that great sweeping wind blow the fogs out of her soul." ― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

We can think of nothing more fitting to kick off the holiday season than the story of Anne Shirley and the light she brings to Green Gables. Watch it with your loved ones this Thanksgiving and be reminded that "tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it."

Anne of Green Gables premieres November 24 at 8 p.m.

California’s First Carbon Capture Project: Vital Climate Tool or License to Pollute?

California’s first attempt to capture and sequester carbon involves California Resources Corp. collecting emissions at its Elk Hills Oil and Gas Field, and then inject the gases more than a mile deep into a depleted oil reservoir. The goal is to keep carbon underground and out of the atmosphere, where it traps heat and contributes to climate change. But some argue polluting industries need to cease altogether.
