Since its inception in 1994, the Cinema Series welcomes movie fans to enjoy preview screenings of the best of Hollywood, independent and festival films prior to their release in theaters or streaming.

Celebrating three decades of great new films.

The Cinema Series is held on Tuesday evenings at the Landmark Westwood in Los Angeles. Each preview screening is followed by an in-depth conversation with the filmmakers, actors, or other special guests.

The virtual Cinema Series screenings of new films are presented periodically and include a conversation with the filmmakers and top talent.

Popular film critic Pete Hammond hosts both Cinema Series experiences.

The KCET Cinema Series concluded its summer season with a 50th anniversary screening of "Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round."

"Little Men" tells the story of two teenage boys who form a friendship as rising rents strain the relationships of the adults surrounding them. Director Ira Sachs and star Theo Taplitz will be guests at the KCET Cinema Series on July 26.

The 2016 Fall KCET Cinema Series is just around the corner! Experience the best of Hollywood and award-winning independent films before they're released in theatres! The series runs from August 16 through October 10.
"Florence Foster Jenkins" movie
Based on a true story, "Florence Foster Jenkins" features actors Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant, and Simon Helberg. The tale of an unusual opera sensation will screen on Tuesday, July 19 at the KCET Cinema Series with Helberg present for a Q&A session.
Hell or High Water Chris Pine Solo Film
Chris Pine and Ben Foster play brothers who turn to bank robbery to save the family farm from foreclosure in "Hell or High Water." Producers Carla Hacken and John Penotti visited the KCET Cinema Series to chat about the film.
