Backwards and Forwards
I left Hong Kong at 11:40PM Wednesday and arrived at LAX at 8:15 PM Wednesday. I had a chance to relive the last 21 hours.
With the time change I was able to retrace my steps and do it differently. Would I have the same breakfast? Would I listen to the same music? As it turns out, I did do it differently.
The moment I stepped into the door, I unzipped the bags and started sorting out the dirty laundry of three weeks of endless travel. The next thing I did was touch everything I missed over the lasts three weeks, my pets, my kitchen and lastly my bed.
Being away from home is exciting, you need to get outside of your surroundings, to explore the world outside. I saw endless rivers of noisy motor scooters, food served by the gutter, jasmine flowers, and a thousand year old temple. I carried my world on my back and started to gather pieces of their world, filling my head with new words and colors.
My world is a jumble of senses, every step I have ever taken determines the next. The time I was given when I arrived back home was used to retrace every step I had taken the time I was gone, making it a complete circle that was made a bit wider by the hours I lost.
