Grindingly Slow

I sit here staring at my screen at the spinning wheel. OMG. Is the Twitter hack making everything slow?

Since the "denial of service" attacks on Twitter this morning, it seems like everything is slow, affected by the millions of unleashed Tweets on the Tweet-o-sphere. Even Facebook had a slow down, affected by the hackers' attempt to push everyone to enjoy the sun outside and away from a hot bubbling computer.

Could it have been the "Happy Hackers"? Are they trying to give us a hint to go outside and to commune with nature? I am betting it is, and that is not a small dark basement full of pimply teenagers or overworked foreign nationals working in a hacker sweatshop somewhere. In my mind they are happy eco-friendly, green vegan, sandal and sock wearing hackers, with computers powered by free range organic hamsters on wheels. If only...

What can we do without? Will this small window of Twitterless Tweeting be good for us? Will we find out that we really need to find a life offline and to go get that great latte down the street? I kicked my Twitter a few months back, and feel better for it. Now all I do is hang around Facebook, and it's not a problem...yet.
