PBS SoCal Hosts Preview of Three-Part Series 'The U.S. and the Holocaust' from Filmmaker Ken Burns

On Tuesday, July 26, PBS SoCal debuted clips from "The U.S. and the Holocaust," a new three-part, six-hour documentary series directed and produced by Ken Burns, Lynn Novick and Sarah Botstein that will premiere on PBS on Sept. 18, 19 and 20, at 8 p.m. PT exploring America's response to one of the greatest humanitarian crises in history. The screening event took place at the Audrey Irmas Pavilion in Los Angeles, where close to 500 guests attended the event in the recently opened event space adjacent to the Wilshire Boulevard Temple. PBS SoCal teamed up with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Wilshire Boulevard Temple to invite members, community leaders and influencers to the event that included tours of the Temple and a VIP rooftop reception with catering provided by Wolfgang Puck.

Wilshire Boulevard Temple's Rabbi Susan Nanus and PBS SoCal President and CEO Andrew Russell welcomed guests along with remarks from Producer Lynn Novick. After the screening, Novick returned to the stage for a short panel discussion with fellow filmmaker and Producer Sarah Botstein, moderated by author Tom Teicholz.
