KCET Cinema Series Screens 'Snowden' on September 6

Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Edward Snowden in "Snowden."

The KCET Cinema Series continues its fall season on Tuesday, September 6, with a screening of "Snowden" at the historic Aero Theatre in Santa Monica. Directed by Oliver Stone and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the film looks at the controversial whistleblower Edward Snowden. "It's a very interesting movie that will cause some interesting reactions," says Cinema Series host Pete Hammond. "I think people will want to see it and talk about it." As an added bonus, Cinema Series attendees will have the chance to see the film before it makes its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. Producer Moritz Borman will be on hand for a Q&A session following the screening.

The fall season of the KCET Cinema Series runs weekly at the Aero Theatre through October 10. The event offers movie-goers the chance to see critically acclaimed movies prior to their release and sit in on Q&A sessions with the talent behind the films. It is proudly sponsored by the James and Paula Coburn Foundation. For information on the series go to kcet.org/cinemaseries. Single admission is available for each screening at the theater. Doors open at 6 p.m.
