The KCET Cinema Series continues on March 29 at the ArcLight Cinemas Sherman Oaks with "The Dark Horse." Inspired by the documentary "Dark Horse," the film stars Cliff Curtis ("Fear the Walking Dead," "Whale Rider," "Blow") as the late Maori chess player Genesis Potini. The movie has earned multiple awards, including "Best Actor" nods for Curtis at the New Zealand Film Awards and Seattle International Film Festival. "The Dark Horse," written and directed by James Napier Robertson, also won the "Best Film" prize at both events. Robertson will be on hand for a Q/A session following the screening.

Hosted by Pete Hammond, Awards Editor and columnist for Deadline Hollywood, the KCET Cinema Series brings acclaimed films and lively discussions to the ArcLight Cinemas Sherman Oaks. The 2016 spring season of the Cinema Series is generously sponsored by the E. Hofert Dailey Trust.
