KCET Special Event at the Aquarium of the Pacific

You and a guest are invited to join us for an event at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach on Thursday, April 13 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm to take a look at two upcoming KCET environmental specials devoted to saving the world's coral reefs. First up is “Coral Seas,” an episode of the critically acclaimed BBC series BLUE PLANET narrated by Sir David Attenborough using incredible time-lapse photography to show the dramatic formation of a coral reef --“The Rainforest of the Sea” -- portraying its inhabitants and its ultimate destruction. Then, America's longest running environmental news magazine EARTH FOCUS presents “Vanishing Coral,” the personal story of scientists and naturalists who are working with local communities to protect coral reefs that are being destroyed by warming seas, pollution, and destructive fishing practices.
Additionally, all screening attendees will be invited to come early (as soon as 4 pm) to explore the Aquarium and its exhibits prior to the screening. Following the screening, the filmmakers will be present to take any questions from the audience to answer any inquiries about the film and about coral - one of the most valuable ecosystems on this earth.
This exclusive and private event is presented by the Aquarium of the Pacific and KCETLink Media Group. Availability is on a first come, first-served basis.
Both Coral Reef specials will premiere on KCET in Southern California on Tuesday, April 18 from 8:30-10:00 pm. To see more on how you can participate in KCETLink Media Group's efforts to save the coral reefs in partnership with Air New Zealand and Heal the Bay, please go to KCET.org/coral.
We are no longer accepting RSVPs but we thank you for your interest. For any inquiries regarding the event, please call KCET's special events line at 747-201-5788.
