Noah Baumbach’s ‘Marriage Story’ Takes The Audience On An Emotional Journey at the Winter KCET Cinema Series
Laura Dern is an award-winning actor, having received two Oscar nominations, the recipient of four Golden Globe Awards, and a Primetime Emmy Award. Her most recent projects include the second season of HBO’s "Big Little Lies," Greta Gerwig’s "Little Women," and Edward Zwick’s "Trial by Fire." Other film credits include: "Star Wars: Episode VIII," "Wilson," "The Founder," "Certain Woman," "Wild," "99 Homes," "Jurassic Park," "A Perfect World," "Rambling Rose," "Mask," "Blue Velvet," and "Wild at Heart." In addition to her extensive acting credits, Dern is a prolific producer, and in 2017 she established Jaywalker Pictures, a Los Angeles-based production company with producing partner Jayme Lemons.
Writer/director Noah Baumbach is best known for his dramatic comedies. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for "The Squid and the Whale" in 2005. His film credits include: "Kicking and Screaming," "Margot at the Wedding," "Greenberg," "Frances Ha," "While We’re Young," "Mistress America," "The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)," and the documentary, "De Palma."
Producer David Heyman is the founder of Heyday Films, and in 1999 he secured the film rights to "Harry Potter" and went on to produce all eight films. In 2013, as the producer of "Gravity," he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture and won a BAFTA Award for Best British Film. His other films include: "One Upon A Time In Hollywood," "Paddington," "We’re the Millers," and "The Boy In The Striped Pajamas."
