43rd Annual Watts Towers Day of the Drum Festival

Presented by the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs and produced by Rosie Lee Hooks, Director and Curator of the Watts Towers Arts Center Campus, the 43rd Annual Watts Towers Day of the Drum Festival on Saturday features JMP Allstars featuring Patrice Rushen, Munyungo Jackson, drum-based music, poetry and dance from around the world.
Performances include “Danza Azteca Xochipilli” (Aztec traditional dancing with Huehuetl and Teponaxtl drums); Korean Classical Music & Dance Company (Traditional Korean drum and dance); “BIMAK Los Angeles GONGS and DRUMS” (Indigenous Philippine music revealing the richness of the archipelago’s diverse cultural traditions); “Amir Sofi” (Joyful rhythms of the Middle East); “Euro Zambrano” (Afro-Venezuelan Drums); and many more.
