Programming Highlights
Ready Jet Go! So Many Moons/Project Pluto
Wednesday at 6 a.m. on PBS SoCal
Our planet may only have one moon, but like some people have more than one sibling, planets can have multiple moons. Jet’s example makes it clear: Jupiter has 67 moons! And when Mindy wants to feature Pluto in her show-and-tell project, she learns more about what makes it different from other planets. Watch and then talk to your kids about what other things in the sky they are curious about.
Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum: I am Florence Nightingale/I am George Washington Carver Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. PST on PBS SoCal and at 6:00 a.m. PST on KLCS When Yadina gets the hiccups right before a big show-and-tell appearance, she turns to Xavier and Brad for help. To help her out, our heroes travel back in time to meet legendary nurse Florence Nightingale.
Let's Go Luna! What's The Big Idea?/Day of the Dead
Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. PST on PBS SoCal
On a visit to Mexico City, Andy really wants a big surface to paint on and learns about murals in the process.
Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! Pulling Together/Fact and Friction
Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. on PBS SoCal
Join the kids in the Machine-a-Ma-Zoo as they learn about simple machines and mechanisms like the pulley. In the Frictionarium, the Cat teaches them about the thing that keeps us from sliding: friction.
At-Home Learning Tips
Try a Different Approach to Schedules Every child’s learning style is different, and as you find your new “normal” at home, you may see that structured schedules are not for everyone. Instead, try making a calendar with at least one new event listed on each day. Read more tips here.
