For over 30 years, El Grito de Dolores at Los Angeles City Hall has brought thousands of people together. This year, Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez is La Madrina, and she is excited to welcome Angelenos for a a night of celebration.

On the steps of City Hall, witness the annual Civic Ceremony reenactment of "El Grito de Dolores,” the bell-ringing call to action by Father Miguel Hidalgo that sparked Mexico’s fight for independence 215 years ago.

At a time when Mexican and Latino communities face uncertainty, El Grito 2025: ¡Viva La Resistencia! is a call to meet the moment—to honor tradition, uplift the people who do so much for our city, and gather in joy.
