Heidi Duckler Dance (HDD) presents Architecture Through The Body: A Living Legacy, a special exhibition at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) celebrating 40 years of groundbreaking site-specific performance. Opening Friday, July 18, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the exhibition invites audiences into HDD’s rich archive of photography, video, costumes, and historic choreography. At 8:00 PM, a panel discussion moderated by Getty Research Institute's Maristella Casciato will explore the relationship between architecture and movement, featuring panelists including Christopher Torres, Scott Johnson, Samantha Blake Goodman, and Corina Kinnear. The exhibition culminates on Friday, July 25, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a site-specific performance choreographed by Artistic Director Raymond Ejiofor and performed by dancers Colleen Loverde and Alejandro Perez, with live music by Pauline Lay.
Architecture Through The Body: A Living Legacy takes place at SCI-Arc (350 Merrick Street, Los Angeles, CA) and highlights HDD’s lasting impact through works staged across rooftops, parks, staircases, and unexpected urban spaces. The opening night includes a reception, exhibit viewing, and panel, while the closing night offers a reception and live performance.
