The Joshua Tree Cultural Center is thrilled to announce the launch of the Joshua Tree Jazz Orchestra, a brand-new ensemble created by the same team behind the acclaimed Joshua Tree Philharmonic. Rooted in the creative spirit of the desert arts mecca of Joshua Tree, the orchestra will celebrate the full spectrum of jazz—from swing, latin, big band and bebop to modern chart-driven repertoire—while building a vibrant community of players who want to perform and collaborate together.

Musicians are warmly invited to an organizational meeting on April 7, 2026, at 6:30 pm at the Cultural Center's state-of-the-art Blak Box Theater. This first gathering will outline the vision, rehearsal cadence, and performance goals—and it's the perfect time to get involved at the ground level. If you play saxophone, trumpet, trombone, piano, bass, guitar, drums, or any other instrument in the jazz idiom, come meet the organizers, connect with fellow musicians, and help shape this exciting new ensemble. The new Joshua Tree Jazz Orchestra will be under the direction of Bill Barrett.
