In honor of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, learn about the process of making kapa (bark cloth) from the wauke (paper mulberry) plant. For ages 6 - 12.

Afterwards, learn about 'ohe kapala - the art of carving bamboo to make stamps. These stamps are used to print intricate patterns on kapa bark cloth. Using modern materials to mimic traditional techniques, you will create nature-inspired patterns to decorate your own "kapa" project to take home.

Attendance is limited, and advance registration is required. Please register every individual in your party, including kids. This will be used to save your spots in the program. We cannot guarantee availability for any unregistered attendees.
