On January 15, 2025, the world bid farewell to a visionary filmmaker, writer, artist, and musician when David Lynch passed away at 78. One year since his passing we’re remembering his one-of-a-kind voice, revisiting his films, and feeling his lasting impact. The series begins with a screening of Blue Velvet (1986) on January 19 with Kyle MacLachlan as a special guest.

In honor of Lynch’s distinct voice and memory of his vibrant life, the Academy Museum is screening five of his films as part of a week-long, city-wide celebration.
