It might seem easier to just grab a bottle from the supermarket shelf, but homemade salad dressing isn't all that difficult once you know a few basic recipes. And with this handy infographic from She Knows, you can whip up dressing at a glance whenever you need it.

Why make your own, anyway? Aside from being too easy not to, homemade dressing can be much more cost-effective. It will most certainly use fewer and fresher ingredients than the store-bought versions (have you ever read those nutritional labels?) and you can tweak the flavor to your own personal taste.

Make a half-cup at the start of every week, and you'll have enough dressing to last through several salads over the next seven days. (That fresh homemade dressing might even tempt you into eating more greens if you weren't a big veggie eater before.)
