The two websites for KCET and PBS SoCal have been consolidated under the PBS SoCal name and your favorite programs are ALL available to stream on one convenient website destination pbssocal.org (as well as the free PBS App and PBS Passport).

Better Access to Shows and Information
We listened to our viewers and members and added streamlined avenues to help alleviate pain points and get users to the shows and information they’re most often seeking.
Improved Interface
We reviewed user behavior and made adjustments to improve site usability. We’ve optimized module sizing for more screens and redesigned the navigation menu to give quicker access to more areas of the site while taking up less space.
More Ways to Explore
We’ve elevated the role of genres and collections and are introducing ways to highlight the best of what we have to offer. We’ve also introduced elements to give logged-in members better access to their Passport benefit.
Redefined Product Vision
We’ve more clearly weighed and established the site’s purposes and product vision, which will help inform and prioritize future development roadmaps.
More Opportunities to Support Giving and Initiatives
We’ve introduced ways throughout the site to encourage membership and also reinforce the value of Passport and the PBS App. New flexible promotional modules are designed to enhance ongoing and seasonal campaigns and provide data to improve their use. The Passport page has been redesigned to showcase the benefit and entice viewers, and an enhanced foundation and presentation has been established for Giving to develop a stronger narrative for supporting public media.
Improved Usability
We reviewed user behavior and survey responses to alleviate usability pain points, including a more efficient (and smaller) navigation, improvements to search, a more direct show finder, and updates to make the site more usable at high resolutions.
Consolidation Allowing Focus and Optimization
With the updated look, brand simplification/consolidation complete for web and a structured set of product goals, we’re able to focus on continuous, data-informed optimization to support the needs of viewers and internal stakeholders.
