KCET Airs Chapman University's 50th Annual Holiday Concert Dec. 21 at 8 p.m.

To celebrate the program's 50th anniversary,

concert founder Dr. William Hall will conduct a special piece during the

production.

Burbank, Calif. - Nov. 14, 2013 - Celebrate the holiday season with KCET, the nation's largest independent

public television station serving Southern and Central California, and Chapman

University, one of California's oldest and most respected private universities,

with Chapman University's 50th Annual Holiday Wassail Concert,

airing Dec. 21 at 8 p.m. 

Viewers will be charmed by a wide variety of festive

music, including holiday favorites such as, "

Sleigh

Ride

," "White Christmas" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas." Traditional carols will include, "The Holly and the Ivy" and

"Hallelujah

Chorus,"

in addition to global hymns like, "Amuworo ayi otu nwa"

from Africa and the classic Hanukkah song, "Aleih Neiri."

The production is performed by more than 150 Chapman

University singers and musicians from the University's Women's Choir,

University Choir, University Singers and the Chapman University Chamber

Orchestra. Selections will be conducted by Stephen Coker, Angel Vázquez -Ramos

and Daniel Alfred Wachs.

To celebrate the program's 50th anniversary,

Dr. William Hall, concert founder and Chapman's founding dean and artistic

director for the Center for the Arts, will make a special appearance

during the popular production to conduct the finale

of Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus."

The program repeats on Dec. 23 at 8 p.m. and on

Christmas Eve at 2 p.m.
