air the inspiring documentary,Playing
for Change
,Saturday, June 1 at 8
p.m.
Directed by Grammy-winning music producer Mark Johnson, the filmexplores our connections in a world overwhelmed with division through the
universal language of music.
Highlighting various countries abroad
such as Spain, Ireland, India and South Africa, this 90-minute documentary
presents interviews from a diverse lineup of musicians all over the world.
Musical performances of popular songs including, "Stand by Me," "One Love" and
"Biko," along with a cameo appearance by Bono, are also featured in the film.
In addition, the breaks will be hosted
by Los Angeles radio disk jockey Cynthia Fox (95.5 KLOS) with special guest
Mark Johnson, who discuss the importance of music and its impact on motivating,
uniting and bringing harmony across the globe.
Playing
for Change
offers a look at how music helps people to persevere through struggles and
celebrate their differences, which, in turn change the world into a more
peaceful place.
