Play the L.A. River is a come-one-come-all project by the arts collective Project 51 -- a collective of L.A. River-loving artists, designers, planners, writers, educators -- that invites Angelenos to explore, enjoy, reclaim, and reimagine the mighty L.A. River as a grand civic space that can green and connect our communities.

#1: A lil' forest that captures stormwater. #2: Ball courts galore. In a tiny city with 25,000 people and a big demand for park space.

In L.A. County's second smallest city, there are two option for some respite from the concrete-lined L.A. River Bike Path. Cudahy River Park is a mini-park designed to capture and treat storm water runoff from nearby roads, where you can soak in a bit of nature from its "miniature urban riparian forest" At the nearby, much larger Cudahy Park, you can find basketball courts, a tennis court, and plenty of grassy space to rest during a break from your long bike ride. These parks join Lugo Park and Clara Street Park, in this city's mere 1.2 square miles.
