Learning to Read
Reading to Your Pet | NPT3
Season 2022
Episode 10
Reading to a pet can help motivate children. Reading fluency, including pacing and phrasing, improves with reading aloud and practicing the same material over and over. Plus, children are not the only ones to benefit from this exercise. Pets enjoy the attention received. When a child reads to an animal, there is no judgment. A pet is available every day to be a consistent listening companion.
