LAUSD COVID Tests Now Open to Symptomatic Parents and Students

On the Oct. 15 edition of the Reporter Roundup, KPCC reporters discuss an update to LAUSD’s COVID-19 testing plan, an alarming number of open nursing home investigations and a vote calling on the Sheriff to resign. 

LAUSD COVID-19 Testing Update
While the Los Angeles Unified School District’s independent COVID-19 testing plan was intended for all students and teachers, the district has been turning down symptomatic individuals until now for safety reasons. Kyle Stokes shares an update on the district's testing program. 

Nursing Home Complaints 
Hundreds of complaints against nursing homes in Los Angeles County remain open, according to a new report. Jackie Fortier discusses the report’s findings and reactions from advocates. 

‘Sheriff Needs to Go’ 
The Los Angeles County Civilian Oversight Commission met today to call on Sheriff Alex Villanueva’s resignation. Frank Stoltze discusses what influenced the vote.
