The Roosevelts
Education Clip: Lead Up to WWII
Congress and most of the public had embraced isolationism. FDR becomes worried about the events in Europe and the rise in Fascism. He tries to alert the public, but is attacked as a war-monger, faces threats of impeachment, even members of his own party fail to follow. Most Americans don’t want anything to do with Europe in spite of reports of German atrocities.
